Interreg V-A Slovak Republic - Czech Republic

The new cooperation programme will follow on from the Interreg V-A SK-CZ programme. The current management and control structures will remain in place to ensure an effective and targeted allocation of European Territorial Cooperation grants for the period 2021-2027. The programme territory will also stay unchanged to enable support for projects with a positive cross-border impact in the South Moravian, Zlín and Moravian-Silesian Regions on the Czech side and in the Trnava, Trenčín and Žilina Regions on the Slovak side.

The programme will aim to improve competitiveness of the common border area, strengthen its cohesion and build an attractive environment. The thematic objectives of the future programmes will be set in line with the new regulations for the European structural funds. The specific thematic objectives will be shaped by real needs. The planning will take into account regional specificities while maintaining a focus on a limited range of thematic objectives in order to improve the results of the programme.

The preparation of the programme focuses mainly on topics such as support and development of cultural heritage and support for tourism development, education, environmental sustainability and care, cycling and other alternative (eco-friendly) modes of transport, cultural p2p cooperation (people to people), institutional cooperation and smart cities and regions.
