The Evaluation Conference, organized by the Evaluation Unit of the Ministry of Regional Development – National Coordination Authority, is the largest annual gathering of experts dedicated to evaluation in the field of European funds. Each year, the Evaluation Conference attracts nearly two hundred professionals not only from the Czech Republic but also from other European Union countries.
The 11th annual conference of the Evaluation Unit of the Ministry of Regional Development – National Coordination Authority, titled “Data in Action: Evaluation as the Key to Effective Cohesion Policy 2028+,” will take place on 13 November 2025 in Prague, in-person, at the Ministry of Regional Development – Academy of Public Investment.
The conference will offer a diverse program focused on current topics in evaluation both in Europe and the Czech Republic, highlighting how evaluation and data work are shaping the future of cohesion policy. The event will connect domestic and international experts, representatives of the European Commission, academia, and public administration.
Main topics include:
- The future of evaluation and evidence-based approaches in cohesion policy – discussions on new trends, legislative changes, and challenges for the effective use of evaluation in decision-making processes.
- What works and under what conditions in supporting competitiveness and convergence – sharing experiences with impact assessments of European funds, including the use of counterfactual methods and meta-analyses.
- Innovation in evaluation: the use of AI, experimental and participatory methods – inspiration from international projects, case studies, and new approaches to working with data in public administration.
- Practical experiences from the Czech Republic and abroad – reflections on successful projects, examples of good practice, and discussions on barriers and opportunities for developing an evaluation culture.
The program includes panel discussions, expert presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities. The conference is intended for everyone interested in evaluation, data, and their use for better public policies – from civil servants and evaluators to academics and representatives of the non-profit sector.
